350 Verken

This is a product type with long traditions, also in Norway. A strong warp, often linen or cotton, was set up in the loom as a "standing warp". The weft used was usually wool yarn of varying quality and thickness. It was handy to have a strong warp standing in the loom and to weave with weft yarn adapted to the use as needed. The weight, and thereby the performance characteristics, could easily be changed with different thicknesses and densities used as elements. 350 is the simple version of the work where only one color is used as an element. Normally, this will be of a different color to the standard black, which often stood as warp.
